• Oracle Extends Configuration Management Capabilities

Extending our ability to manage configurations and automate IT processes, Oracle has made enhancements to Oracle Configuration Management Pack, a key component of Oracle Enterprise Manager.

“Oracle continues to deliver on our commitment to top-down application management with the latest release of the Oracle Enterprise Manager Configuration Management Pack. Customers can now leverage the additional rich features, like those provided with the new Configuration Change Console, to help them simplify day-to-day IT management activities, ensure systems are compliant, and reduce their overall costs,” said Richard Sarwal, SVP, Product Development, Oracle.

With this release, Oracle Configuration Management Pack —available for Oracle Database, Oracle Middleware, and non-Oracle systems—adds comprehensive, continuous, real-time detection, validation, and reporting of authorized and unauthorized configuration changes across Oracle and non-Oracle environments. These capabilities, delivered through the new Configuration Change Console, enable customers to monitor changes in IT environments more efficiently while reducing costs, helping to improve service levels and to meet compliance objectives.

Oracle Configuration Management Pack enhances Oracle Enterprise Manager’s unique top-down approach to application management by providing a comprehensive configuration management solution out of the box. Through proactive change detection and configuration policies for the entire application environment, Oracle Enterprise Manager delivers a richer perspective on the health of business applications.

Highlights of the Oracle Configuration Management Pack with new Configuration Change Console include (full descriptions are available in the press release):

    • Real-time configuration change detection across the enterprise
    • Out-of-the-box configuration compliance policies and framework
    • Discovery and asset tracking
    • Analytics and reporting
    • Integration with popular change management systems
    • Open and extensible solution
