• SOA and Mainframe : Two World Collide and Integrate

I don’t know how many of you have seen Tom Laszewski’s (Partner Technology Services) latest publication but it is a great article which he has just completed for TheServerSide.com.  And we should note that TheServerSide is a hugely popular middle tier go-to-place on the web (Netcraft site rank of #8418).
Tom’s done a lucid and convincing job laying out the challenges of integrating and leveraging legacy based assets. He’s also done a nice job with well placed references to Oracle product and technology which meet and fulfill these challenges.
On or off the mainframe, this is an excellent piece to share with you:

And it’s a great reminder for all of us that our Oracle database stands better side by side with its twin core technology, Oracle’s Fusion Middleware (including its new sibling from BEA), than standing alone. And when both are laid down as the foundation (via Maximum Availability Architecture) for Oracle Applications (one off or in tandem via Application Integration Architecture), the combined effect becomes the perfect antidote to the challenges confronting our customer base.
Well done Tom!  and thank Marc for the link

In the same context as Oracle Applications running on Mainframe (IBM System z)  I would like to share with you 2 documents recently published by Oracle and IBM regarding:

IBM System z with Oracle Database and Linux for Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise

IBM System z with Oracle Database and Linux for Oracle E-Business Suite
